Well, my plans on this short road trip of driving up alone could have only been an hour and a half drive, but I invited my 21 year old and her boyfriend and the trip turned into almost a two and a half hour drive...(my two little road dogs were poor navigators) LOL!!
Went to Hollister this weekend, just yesterday ( Sat.) for an overnighter. We met up with my brothers from Fresno at the Casa De Fruita. It was sooo good to see everyone. Some I hadn't seen for bout 15 years and great to know the friendships never subsided, just got older, more grey or balding...LOL!, and physically, some I almost couldn't recognize! Fun group of guys....my friend Monster, huge guy, a big sissy la la over spiders and one of the other guys brought his girlfriend--a blow up doll!..LOL!! I had been tippin' em' all afternoon with a couple of small tokes of the medical MJ on the drive up...Hey, no kids, no clocks, no stress.... Finally, we arrive about noonish! My kids told me I was FIRED! As driver.
Went for a ride with a brother to visit another group at Boledo Park for a couple of hours and got there about 8:30 p.m. It was great to see everyone...It was a great ride to the park and back to our camp, however, when he pulled up to the camp, he attempted to drop his kick stand when he said, "Oh s---, my kick stand broke." At that moment I stood up on the peg was about to get off the bike when it became unbalanced and tipped over a little, my brother was standing trying to gain balance and control of the bike.......and me? Well, that motion of the bike almost dropping, thrust me forward somehow, I really don't know how that happened, and I took a nose dive to the ground. I tried to break my fall with my left hand when I landed, sliding like a runner goin' to home plate. I looked back at my brother and he was just standing there with his mouth wide open holding the bike up.
OMG! That was the highlight of my whole day! After being the center of attention for what seemed like a looong moment, rolled on the ground laughing my --- off, the guys finally helped me to my feet....It's about ---n time, but I'm alright, got my helmet on!!.....I was numb, I didn't feel a thang. At that moment, the only thing hurt was my dignity.....LOL!!
Then I said loudly to the group of about 15-20 people at our camp.....how many of you have taken a spill off your bikes, not including traffic accidents?.....Bout 2/3 of the group admitted it. The other 1/3, ..."Aœaaah you're probably lyin'!".....with that in mind, I didn't feel so bad....was not the first, certainly will not be the last. Well that struck up conversations on that topic one trying to outdo the other with their stories....
The next morning I discovered I lost my camera, but took some pics with my camera phone...aaaand with a slight hang-over, I woke up feelin' sooo sore, my knees, my back and especially my left hand, which became swollen overnight. My hand and wrist had this throbbing pain, but was ok when I lifted or elevated it....
Good thing it was dark when I had my fall cuz the only people that saw me was my group. Blame it on the broken kick stand, blame it on the brew and/or .....blame it on me failing to drop my landing gear...
Talk about makin' a grand entrance!!
Aaaah, I covered my ass....I just told everybody that he pushed me off the bike....LOL!!
THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKIN' TO IT!!
