ABATE = American Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education at present day, but was originally: American Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments.
We are a motorcycle rights organization (MRO) that fights at the state Capitol level for all motorcyclist's rights.
We are of any gender, and we ride any type of motorcycle. We do not discriminate against anyone who rides a different bike than we do.
I am a Goldwinger & the President of Local 25. I'd like to invite everyone to come to our meetings. You don't have to join to learn how to fight for your rights as a biker in CA. Come hear about the legislation going on. Learn about the rides we intend to take. Bring raffle prizes for our raffles. We also have a 50/50 drawing at the end of the raffle prizes.
We eat dinner before our meetings which are held at Denny's Restaurant, 3520 Auburn Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95827, just east of Watt Avenue, south of the I-80 highway. Meeting time is 7:00pm
We are working with Denny's Restaurant on Community benefits. A blood drive at Denny's is in the works for the near future as are meal discounts to benefit local charities.
If you have an event you'd like to discuss, by all means come tell my members about your events. Bring lots of fliers.
The median age for our membership is over 40 years of age. We do have some youngens though. And thru the funding of AIM, we now also allow membership to 15 & 16 year olds & up. We call them Jr members & their motorcycle training courses will be paid thru AIM.
We focus our legislation on all types of bikers & all types of motorcycles. Right now we are working on putting the Motorcycles are ok signs back up on the diamond lane. HOV, high occupancy lane bill. AB1535.
AB1047 is now in the Senate Transportation & Housing Committee & that one is for Motorcycle ONLY checkpoints are discriminatory.
AB1890 is a bill that we hope to have passed on where a toll booth transponder can be placed on a motorcycle. The bills will allow them to be placed anywhere, just so long as it trips off the toll booth.
We have letter writing campaigns & we just sponsored a tour of the Capitol last weekend.
We have meets & greets with other Locals like one this coming Friday night in Dixon to hear the Fryed Brothers Band play.
